Q & A With Guy

1 – How long have you been doing this and how did you get to be a Career Change Expert?
I’ve been doing this for over ten years. I found myself informally coaching and guiding my employees through their next career move. Eventually people who were not my direct reports began to seek me out and I would work them to help them find a new position or transfer to an entirely different department. I finally decided to branch out and make my own career change. I become certified as a Life Coach specializing in Career Change.

2 – Who are your clients exactly?
My clients are people who are looking to make a major shift in their lives. I have an increasing business in corporate professionals who are looking to leave the corporate arena and become self employed or transition into an entirely different profession. They’ve spent a number of years in a corporate career and they feel stuck. They make a good salary. They struggle with feeling that they don’t have any other career options, however, they have a nagging feeling that they are supposed to be following a bigger purpose.

3 – How are you different from other career coaches?
I work with you one on one to determine your specific needs. I also do an assessment to determine your strengths. We then follow a step by step process that is designed to help you move through the change progression at a faster pace than you would on your own. What is unique about me is that I was also a corporate professional. And since I’ve gone through my own career change, I understand the pitfalls and challenges that anyone making this transformation will go through.

4 – What type of personality do you work well with and what is expected of me?
I work well with people who are willing and ready to do the work. They understand focus is required to achieve what they want. My role is to keep you dedicated and on track. Your role is to come prepared for each session with a clear agenda on what you want to accomplish and the willingness to put in the effort.

5 – For what type of professional is this program not going to work?
This program will not work for someone who is skeptical of the program and who second-guesses each step of the process. Also, if you do not have the time to do the work then this is not the program for you.

6 – What is the career change system and what does it include?
It is a seven step process that covers everything from making career change a priority, gaining clarity on exactly what it is you want to do and creating your plan. Each step is designed to help you gain momentum and take consistent action to achieve your goals.

7 – How can I guarantee I will make progress in record time?
It is so important to stay in sync with the recommendations and to be totally ready to make the change. If you follow the process, you will make quicker progress than you would ever make on an individual basis.

8 – Does this really work?
Yes.

9 – What results will I get?
You will discover what you were meant to do if not already aware and with consistent action you will transition into the career you desire.

10 – How will we work together? What does the program entail?
We will meet once weekly over the phone or in person. Each session lasts 45 minutes. Each meeting will include assignments, and SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-Based) goals that will help to move you forward in record time. In addition, I am accessible via email and phone. That’s why it’s so important to come prepared and to be ready and willing to do the work.

11 – How quickly can I expect results?
I would say it takes consistent action for a minimum period of three to six months for effective change to be implemented.

12 – How long is the program?
If you sign up for one of the programs, I recommend six months. This allows us time to gain a profound understanding of what is holding you back and then implement strategy to move you forward.

13 – How will I recover my investment I put into this coaching program?
The investment is an investment in you. It will be recovered when you do the work and discover your ideal career and also when you make the transition into a new profession.

14 – I don’t have much time to spare, how much time do I need?
You need to have 45 minutes weekly for our calls or meetings; in addition I recommend you spend a minimum of four hours weekly doing the assignments that are designed to facilitate advance progress.

15 – Can I contact some of your former client’s and see what it’s like to work with you?
Yes.

16 – I’m not sure I’m ready to get started, how can I sample your work to see if it is right for me?
We can schedule a 30 minute consultation free of charge to see if this is right for you.

17 – Ok, I’m ready to do this but I have a couple of additional questions. Can I call you?
Yes, you can call my office at (212) 283-0517.
